For parents

A parent's guide to Fractured Skies

Fractured Skies is a Minecraft prison server for players aged 13 and older. Public rules ban slurs, sexual content and sharing personal information, in game and on Discord; fighting other players happens in one opt-in area and nowhere else; and the store sells no loot boxes or anything that speeds up progress. Under-18s need a parent's permission to buy. The details are below so you can decide.

What your child does here

Fractured Skies is a Minecraft prison server: an online world where players mine blocks, sell them for in-game money, and spend that money to unlock the next mine, from Mine A to Mine Z. Around that there are team systems (gangs), timed events, boss fights and an area for fighting other players. The in-game money has no real-world value and cannot be cashed out.

Fighting other players

There is no player-versus-player combat in the mines or at spawn, which is where players spend most of their time. It happens in one place, /warp pvp, which a player has to walk into on purpose, and items dropped there can be picked up by whoever won the fight. Nothing lost in game costs real money: the store sells no items, gear or currency, so nothing a player can lose was ever bought. How the PvP area works.

Boss fights, capture-point events (KOTH) and the timed server events are the other places where players compete. Turning up to any of them is free, and the rewards are in-game currency and cosmetics.

Coin flips and item flips

Players can stake in-game money or in-game items against another player in a coin flip or an item flip. It is worth knowing about, so here is exactly what it is and is not:

  • Only in-game currency and in-game items are ever at stake. Neither can be bought with money, sold for money or cashed out.
  • The store sells no prison cash, no items and no crate keys, so nothing your child paid for can be staked or lost.
  • Both players agree the amount before anything is staked, and the server takes no cut.
  • Crates work the same way: every key is earned by playing, and none has ever been sold. How crates work.

Your child needs their own copy of Minecraft, Java Edition or Bedrock Edition. Joining the server is free. On Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, custom servers need a workaround, which the join page explains.

Age and permission

  • Players must be 13 or older.
  • Anyone under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's permission to buy anything from the store.
  • The community also meets on Discord, which sets its own minimum age of 13 (higher in some countries).

Chat and behaviour

The same rules cover game chat, gang chat and the Discord server:

  • No slurs, harassment or hate speech. Slurs are punished without a warning.
  • Chat stays broadly safe for work: no sexual content, gore or shock links. The rules tell players to assume a thirteen-year-old is reading.
  • Sharing anyone's personal information (real names, addresses, photos, workplaces or accounts) without permission is a permanent ban.
  • No advertising other servers, Discord invites or referral links.
  • Public chat stays in English so staff can moderate it.

Players report rule breaks with /report in the game, or open a ticket for anything older. Staff answer tickets within 48 hours. The full rules are public.

Spending money

The store is optional. It sells chat tags, particle trails, cosmetic pets, three ranks with convenience perks (more homes and storage, a priority queue when the server is full) and gift cards. Every item is a one-time purchase; there are no subscriptions.

  • Nothing sold makes a player mine faster or progress sooner, so nobody has to pay to keep up. The store policy lists every item.
  • Nothing is sold for a random reward: no crate keys, loot boxes or mystery items.
  • Payments go through Tebex, which handles billing and refunds. The server never sees full card numbers.

If something was bought without your permission

Email store support at store@fractured-skies.world within 14 days of the purchase, with the Minecraft username and the Tebex transaction ID (it starts with tbx-). The refund policy lists when refunds are given, including any case where consumer law in your country requires one.

A chargeback or payment dispute removes the purchased items and suspends the account while the dispute is open, so writing to store support first is usually the quicker route.

Personal information

The server records what any Minecraft server needs to run and moderate: the Minecraft username, IP address, chat messages and commands, and moderation records. The privacy policy lists everything, who receives it and how long it is kept. To have your child's data corrected or deleted, email legal@fractured-skies.world with their Minecraft username. If a child under 13 has given the server personal data, the same address gets it deleted.

Who runs the server

The about page says who runs Fractured Skies and how the server is run. For anything else, email support@fractured-skies.world or use the support page.
