A gang is up to eight people mining toward the same number. You can play the whole prison solo, but the gang systems are where most of the long-term players end up.
How to start a gang
/gang create <name> starts one. The gang level decides how many players you can invite, up to eight members in total. Set who can pull from the vault, and talk in /gc without filling public chat. Members keep their own rank, prestige and balance. The gang shares a vault, a gang balance and the gang level.
Gang level
Every block a member breaks in the mines counts toward the gang level. Levels unlock a bigger shared vault, more member slots up to the limit of eight, and a gang tag that shows next to every member’s name. Levels are not for sale and do not decay, but they do not transfer if you leave.
What gangs do together
- KOTH. One player can take a capture point. A gang standing on it together is much harder to move, which is how most KOTHs are won.
- Bosses. Loot follows damage, and eight people put out more of it than one.
- Plot mines. Most gangs run one upgraded plot mine every member can work rather than eight neglected ones.
- Events. The space mine and seasonal events pay per player, so the whole gang turning up is worth more than one member doing.
Leaving
You keep everything that is yours: rank, prestige, balance, homes, cosmetics, tokens and the enchants on your pickaxe. You lose access to the shared vault the moment you leave, so pull what you are owed first. Leaders can transfer the gang with /gang leader <player> rather than disbanding it.
