Prison cash buys the next letter. Tokens buy everything else.
Where tokens come from
Tokens drop while you break blocks in the mines, so the currency and the grind are the same thing. Events, KOTH, bosses and crates pay tokens on top, which is why most players who are saving for an expensive enchant show up to them.
Tokens are not prison cash. Cash pays for /rankup and gets wiped to zero when you prestige; tokens are yours and stay yours.
The token shop
The token shop is where tokens turn into progress:
- Custom enchants for your pickaxe and your weapons.
- Multipliers that raise what your blocks sell for.
- Tags that sit next to your name in chat.
- Nukes, which clear a whole mine in one go. How nukes work.
Prices are in tokens only. There is no package that converts money into tokens, and there never will be: the store policy rules out in-game currency of any kind.
Multipliers
A multiplier raises what the shop pays you for what you mine. They stack with the permanent bonus every prestige adds, which is why a player 30 prestiges in with a shelf of multipliers earns so much more per hour than a first-run player standing in the same mine.
Multipliers come from the token shop, from events, from crates and from prestiging. None of them come from the store. A premium rank never carries a multiplier, and a tag bought as a cosmetic never carries one either.
Tags
A tag is the label in front of your name in chat: proof you were at a KOTH, cleared a boss, hit a prestige milestone or bought a cosmetic. Some are on sale in the token shop, some only drop at events, and some can no longer be earned at all once their event is over. Switch between the ones you own with /tag, including the free [INMATE] tag every account starts with.
Vote tokens are something else
Voting pays vote tokens, which are spent in /voteshop and nowhere else. Mining pays tokens, which are spent in the token shop. The two do not convert. The vote page lists what each vote pays.
